Terms and Conditions ofImageHire

FreeMOM is a medical device which must be used in accordance with the usage instructions otherwise harmful effects can occur. We require that you read, understand and accept the following Terms and Conditions of Hire and Safety Precautions and Contra-indications:

  • FreeMOM must only be used in the manner shown in the instruction manual and accompanying DVD, and only by the birthing mother indicated on the hire agreement.
  • PhysioShop requires that you seek approval from your medical practitioner and  consult a qualified health care professional prior to using FreeMOM. Details of trained health care practitioners can be provided by calling us on (02) 95940187.
  • FreeMOM must not be used before the onset of labour pain unless you obtain specific medical advice to do so.
  • The FreeMOM unit must be returned by the due date indicated and in similar condition as when dispatched by Physioshop. The hirer agrees to reimburse PhysioShop for the repair or replacement costs of incomplete or damaged units up to a maximum of $225. A fee of $15 per week overdue will be charged for units returned late.
  • A full refund will be given on the purchase price of the electrodes if they are returned unopened and undamaged in their protective packaging. No refund will be given on the hire component of the FreeMOM unit once it is dispatched.


Safety Precautions and Contra-indications:

STRICT MEDICAL ADVICE MUST BE OBTAINED BEFORE USING FREEMOM IF YOU:

  • have electronic or metallic implants (e.g. a heart pacemaker)
  • suffer from a neurological or cardiac condition
  • suffer from epilepsy
  • suffer from diabetes or other conditions resulting in abnormal skin and nerve sensations or degeneration of your skin condition
  • are taking anti-coagulation medication or long-term steroidal use
  • suffer from a mental condition
  • wish to place the electrodes on any part of your facial or skull area.



YOU MUST AT ALL TIMES AVOID PLACING THE FREEMOM ELECTRODES:

  • over the front of your chest (heart area)
  • over your facial or skull area or the front and sides of your neck
  • on any open or recent wounds, irritated or damaged skin, varicose veins or areas with vascular problems.
  • over any areas where normal sensation is not present



  • DO NOT use FreeMOM in the presence of flammable materials e.g. anaesthetic gas mixture.
  • FreeMOM may need to be turned off if electrical foetal monitoring is required.
  • NEVER use FreeMOM at an intensity which you consider to be uncomfortable – reduce the intensity or turn unit off immediately.
  • DO NOT attach or detach electrodes whilst they are operating. If an electrode falls off during use turn the FreeMOM unit off prior to reattaching the electrode.
